U19 Provincial Cricket – Southerners into the finals
Southern Province booked their spot in the finals of the SLC Super U19 Provincial tournament today after….
Winning the toss and batting first, Western Province South lost two wickets in as many overs as Thisara Dilshan got the ball seaming away from the right handers early on. Dananjaya Lakshan also gave him good support but it was left arm orthodox spinner Avindu Theekshana who reaped rich rewards off a very dry and slow surface at the Khettarama. He put up a bowling masterclass of left arm spin, as he ended up with top figures of 5/41 accounting to restrict a strong Western Province South batting line up to just 189.
