Sri Lanka Rest won the toss and elected to field first which was a mistake in hindsight as the Sri Lanka A team piled on a mammoth 325 for 5.
Ashan Priyanjana in a scintillating knock belted 136 not out and Angelo Perera had a well made 112 and together took Sri Lanka ‘A’ to a match winning total.
The Sri Lanka Rest bowling was effective but the century making pair of the opposition put spate to that and the Rest bowlers ended up with damaged figures of 2/52 to Shaminda Eranga, 55/1 to Milinda Siriwardena. Dilruwan Perera went for plenty -78/1 and Chamara Kapugedara chipped in with 49/1
In their turn to bat Sri Lanka Rest made hardly an effort with Udara Jayasundara 2/17 Ramith Rambukwella 3/43 and Suranga Lakmal 2/43 holding at bay all the batsmen. Some late order rallying by Lahiru Tirimanna 42, Milinda Siriwardena 35 gave the Rest some respectability.
