Arsenal and Man City face tough opposition in the UCL round of 16

109

Arsenal will face reigning champions Bayern Munich in the round of 16 and will hope to avenge last season’s exit they suffered at the same stage at the hands of the German giants.

Bayern are more likely to progress but it is difficult to say who will end up going through.

Manchester City face Barcelona as they hope to progress to the quarterfinals of the competition. Barcelona will hope to have Lionel Messi fully fit to counter the likes of Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo.

Manchester United have drawn Olympiakos and will consider themselves lucky to have avoided a tougher opponent.

AC Milan face Atletico Madrid while Bayer Leverkusen face Paris Saint-Germain. Atletico will fancy their chances of progression despite their illustrious opponents while PSG with their firepower and spending capacity with the January window opening should progress.

It’s a return to Stamford Bridge for Didier Drogba as his Galatasaray side face Chelsea. Chelsea will look to progress but may find it tough in Turkey.

Schalke face Real Madrid while Zenit St Petersburg face Borussia Dortmund. Real should go through without a major fuss while Dortmund will hope to have their key players fit when the Russians come calling.
