After an impressive 36-0 win against the hosts​ yesterday (9th November)​, Sri Lanka women suffered a double blow ​when they were beaten by Kazakhstan (25-0) and China (29-10) in the ARFU Women’s Asian Rugby Sevens Series being held in Pune, India. 

Their losing streak continued in to the second day when they lost to Thailand 5-0 and then to Singapore 19-12 to end up in the 8th place in the tournament above Iran (9th) and India (10th).

The Sri Lanka women’s team won the plate championship in Thailand several weeks ago.

Japan won the women’s cup final against China 19-14 and Sri Lanka’s Irshad Carder refereed the game.
