Isipathana College, Colombo adding another win under their belt today beating ST. Sylvesters College, Kandy by 79 runs in Singer Schools U17 Division 01 group ‘S’ match played at BRC grounds today.
After winning the toss the home team opted to bat first and scored 250 runs loss of 9 wickets at the end of 50 overs. Ravindu Rathnayake scored 83 runs while Savindu Uthsara scored 71 runs and Theyindu Dickwella scored 32 runs. Charith Rajaguru was the pick of the bowlers by taking 4 wickets for 31 runs while Hashan Rathnayake took 3 wickets for 53 runs and Naveen Bandara chipped 2 wickets for 41 runs.
Chasing the target was not easy for the visitors from hill country when they ended up their inning scoring 171 runs loss of 7 wickets completing 50 overs. All round performance by Charith Rajaguru scored the highest runs for the boys from Kandy by 43 runs and Kasun Edirithilake scored 30 runs. Savindu Uthsara and Kavindu Bandara shared 4 wickets between them by taking 2 wickets for 27 runs and 2 wickets for 30 runs respectively.

Visitors after winning the toss invited the home team to bat first, taking the home conditions as advantage ST. Anthony’s scored 216 runs loss of 9 wickets and declared the inning in 44.2 overs. Chandimal Herath scored 61 runs while Bimsara Jayasekara scored 39 runs. Isuru Dilhara was the pick of the bowlers by taking 3 wickets for 37 runs.
