Angelo Perera retires from International Cricket

Angelo Perera has decided to retire from international cricket with immediate effect, ThePapare.com learns.

The 31-year-old batter will walk off the international arena having played 6 ODIs and 6 T20Is for Sri Lanka. Perera made his international debut in 2013 and last played against Pakistan in 2019.

The right-hander will reportedly continue to play domestic and franchise cricket or may migrate overseas.

Perera has been a prominent member of the Sri Lankan first-class cricket scene having led one of the toughest domestic outfits in local cricket, the NCC, for several years.

He has been prolific in the domestic scene over the last decade, managing a batting average of 48.08 in 107 first-class outings and 42 in 150 list-A games. Perera also captained the Kandy Warriors franchise at the recently concluded 2nd edition of the Lanka Premier League.
