Angelo Perera hit a swashbuckling 100 not out off 66 balls (11×4, 6×6) to help Wayamba to a convincing five-wicket win over Basnahira in their inter-provincial limited overs cricket tournament match played at SSC ground today.
Twenty-two-year-old NCC batsman Perera added 149 runs in an unbeaten sixth wicket partnership with Kosala Kulasekara (45 runs, 64b, 6×4) after his team had lost five wickets for 108 runs, chasing 266 runs for victory. Captain Jehan Mubarak also made a half-century for Wayamba.
Earlier, left-arm spinner Chathura Randunu captured 4 for 52 to restrict Basnahira after an impsoing opening partnership between TM Sampath (49) and Mahela Udawatte (63) who had added 91 runs in 18.5 overs.

Pacemen Amil Prasad claimed five for 35 and Dilhara Fernando finished with three for 16 as Kandurata-Uva Combined team trounced Uthura-Neganahira Combined by eight wickets with 198 balls to spare in their Inter-Provincial limited overs cricket tournament match at Moors ground, yesterday.
An impressive bowling effort by Kandurat-Uva Combined team saw Uthura-Neganahira Combined managing a paltry 86 runs in 25.4 overs, with only opener Michael Vandort (30) going past 20 runs.
Kandurata-Uva although lost Dimuth Karunaratne and Bhanuka Rajapaksa in quick succession reached the target comfortably thanks to in-form SSC batsmen Kaushal Silva (40 not out) and Thilina Kandamby (25 not out).
