Dharmaraja v Ananda
Sensational batting from the Anandians helped them to gain first innings honours against Dharmaraja College Kandy in their Division one Group A match that concluded at Lakeview Grounds today.
After being invited to bat first, Ananda College piled up a massive 307 for 8 on the back of a well-constructed innings by the batsmen.
Hasaranga Waragoda led with a brilliant fifty while the others contribut
ed with thirties and forties. The lads from Colombo declared their first innings when they lost 8 wickets, which were captured by Ruchira Pupulewatte and Asmitha Rajapaksha.
Rajans’ batting was not satisfactory in return as they were bowled out for
167. Missing the skipper Venuka Galahitiyawa owing to an injury, the team was headed by Ruchira Pupulewatte who stroked 31. The left arm spin duo of Asela Damsika and Dileepa Jayalath bagged 3 scalps apiece.
Unable to avoid the follow-on, the boys from the Hill country were asked to bat again. They went on to score 74 runs for the loss of five before the day’s end. Bawantha Udangamuwa remained unbeaten on 19 while left arm spinner Damsika again registered 3 wickets to his name.

St.Sylvester’s v Mahanama
A spectacular all-round performance by Sivakumar Tyron helped St.Sylvester’s College Kandy record a thrilling first innings victory over Mahanama College Colombo today in a Division one game played at the Peradeniya University Grounds.
Propped up by the knocks of Muditha Hashan (76) and Sivakumar Tyron (53*), Vesters declared after posting 256 on the board. Spinners Dinuka Chamath and Harshana Kavinda shared seven wickets between them.
Against the tight bowling attack and the pressure directed at the visitors, they fell just 3 runs short of the target for the 1st innings. NilukaWeligala top-scored with 69 while Sivakumar Tyron ruined the expectations of the opposition claiming a six-wicket haul.
The rapturous boys from Kandy came out to bat in their 2nd innings and stroked 87 runs for the loss of five at stumps day-two.
