Amritha Muttiah, reigning National champion in Sri Lanka women’s tennis, clinched a vital Triple Crown to add another feather in the cap of victories in her illustrious career at the recently concluded ‘A’ Grade tennis tournament, the 99th Colombo Champion-ships, which was held at the SLTA Playing Section clay courts through two weeks.
She won the Women’s Singles, beating Nethmi Waduge in the finals, Women’s Doubles partnering Nilushi Fernando, and Mixed Doubles, partnering Thangarajah Dineshkanthan, in her successful campaign at this tournament.
She is to defend her National title at the 99th Nationals, to begin at the SLTA hard courts on August 16.
