Amila Aponso starred with a seven wicket haul to go along with four wickets in the first innings as the second four day game played between the Sri Lanka A Emerging and the South Africa Emerging ended in a tame draw in Dambulla today(9).
Left arm orthodox bowler Amila Aponso spun a web around the young Proteas batsmen as he ended with a match bag of 11/233 as the Sri Lanka A Emerging came back strongly to take honours after defeat in the first four day game played in Pallekele last week.
The proteas resuming from their overnight score of 110/2 went on to make 299 runs in their second essay with Markram(93) and Klaasen(57) making half centuries.
This left the Sri Lanka A Emerging with an almost impossible target of 287 with just a couple of hours in the game to be played. The Lankan top order came good once again reaching 100/1 in 21 overs with right handed opener, Kusal Mendis making a free flowing unbeaten 58 runs when the umpires decided to draw stumps for the day.
