St. Peter’s College completely dominated their Group C fixture against Dharmaraja College which concluded today at St. Peter’s grounds. Dharmaraja College resumed day two on 28 runs for 2 wickets and was bowled out for 139 runs in their second innings while giving away an innings victory to St. Peter’s College. Peter’s left arm spinner Ameen Miflal was the star of the match as he picked up 9 wickets for 120 runs in the match.

Group A fixture between Trinity College and Thurstan College ended in a draw at Thurstan grounds but Thurstan College won much deserved first innings points. Thurstan batsmen resumed day two on 140 runs for 3 wickets and added another 144 runs for the remaining 7 wickets.
Right arm off spinner Kavishka Senadeera picked up 6 wickets for 66 runs for the lads from Kandy. Trinity batsmen began their second innings 97 runs behind and showed a much improved batting performance as they finished day two on 253 runs for 8 wickets.

D.S. Senanayake College continued their dominance against St. Benedict’s College for second day as well, as they recorded a comprehensive innings victory today at Army grounds. After reaching the 300 run milestone, DS skipper decided to declare their first innings with a massive 233 runs lead.
St. Benedict’s batsmen struggled again in the second innings as they were bundled out for 138 runs. Left arm spinner Muditha Lakshan starred again in the second innings with the ball by picking up 6 wickets for 40 runs.

Richmond College managed to win first innings points against Gurukula College in a Group C fixture which concluded today at Galle International Cricket Stadium. Richmond batsmen resumed day two on 54 runs for 2 wickets and declared their first innings at 227 runs for 8 wickets.
Right handed batsman Chamath Dilsara made a classy knock of 53 runs not out for the hosts. Visitors began their second innings and scored 80 runs for 3 wickets at stumps on day two.

St. Aloysius College defeated St. Mary’s College by 5 wickets in a Group B fixture which concluded today at Welagedara stadium. St. Aloysius batsmen resumed day two on 125 runs for 7 wickets and only added another 20 runs for the remaining three wickets. St. Mary’s began their second innings 24 runs behind and a batting collapse saw them bowled out for just 92 runs.
Left arm spinner Kavika Dilshan was brilliant again in the second innings with the ball as he picked up 7 wickets for 32 runs taking his match tally into 11 wickets for 44 runs. St. Aloysius batsmen had only 69 runs to chase which they did with 9 wickets remaining.

Group B fixture between St. John’s College and St. Anthony’s College ended in a draw at Bandaragama Public grounds while giving first innings points to St. Anthony’s College. After getting off to a flying start to their innings, St. Anthony’s declared at 359 runs for 9 wickets.
Right handed batsmen Sanka Madubhashana (92) and Tharindu Chandima (85) contributed with half-tons. St. John’s College began their second innings 103 runs behind but batted well to post 261 runs for 7 wickets on the board. Ashan Dilhara stroked a magnificent century for the lads from Panadura.

Traditional fixture between Prince of Wales College and Royal College commenced today at Royal College grounds. After winning the toss, the hosts skipper opted to field first and managed to bowl out the Cambrians for 277 runs. Cambrian opening batsman Sandun Fernando missed a well-deserved century by 1 run as he was dismissed for 99 runs.
Left handed batsman Suwath Mendis (48) and right handed batsman Avindu Fernando (43) chipped in with valuable contributions. 16 year old Royal off spinner Kamil Mishara picked up 4 wickets for 61 runs. In reply, Royal batsmen were struggling at 30 runs for 4 wickets at stumps on day one. Match will continue tomorrow for day two.
