Akila Dananjaya’s remodeled bowling action has been given the green light to be used in international cricket by the International Cricket Council (ICC), Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed today.

The 25-year old off spinner was reported of an illegal bowling action during the home Test series against England last November and later was proven after being tested in the National Cricket Centre in Brisbane.
Dananjaya who has been Sri Lanka’s go-to spinner in limited overs cricket during the recent past was a huge loss for the team since being banned, and has been named in the ODI squad to face South Africa this month immediately after being cleared.

The test in which his action was cleared was done in Chennai last week. Dananjaya who has been working hard on remodeling his action during the past few months also participated in the domestic first-class matches and T20 matches for his club, Colts CC to keep his match fitness up to the mark.
