The 12th Mora rugby tournament which was organized by the Moratuwa University Rugby football team in relation with the department of physical education (University of Moratuwa) was held under the umbrella of Moratuwa University sports complex on 18th of December 2012.
The 12 featured teams under 4 groups were played for the Professor Lakshman Rathnayake trophy.
The 12 teams who played for the trophy was NIBM, SLIIT, Sabare B, Mora A, Kelaniya A, Wayamba B, Uva A, Achievers, Old Mora, Sabare A, Mora B and ICBT.
The complex set for a great end with the two final unbeaten teams, Achievers and the Mora ‘A’ team. This featured a number of junior national players including Shehan Pathirana, Jason Dissanayake, and many more. The Achievers team with their experience players dished out some scintillating rugby taking Mora A to the task. The final score was 17 to 10 in favour of Achievers.
The prizes for the winners were given out by K. R. D. Rathne Mudali, Director, Department of Physical Education, Mr. Sanjeewa Jayasinghe.
