Established in 1934, the Mahagastota Hill Climb holds the distinction of being Sri Lanka’s oldest motorsport event, drawing generations of racing enthusiasts and competitors eager to take on its demanding uphill course. The Mahagastota Hill Climb has long been a proving ground for Sri Lanka’s finest racing talent. The ACBT 91st Mahagastota Festival Of Speed 2025 will feature motorcycles taking to the track on April 5th, while modern racing cars will battle for the fastest time on April 6th. Adding to the spectacle, the 2025 Mahagastota Historic Parade will take place on Saturday, April 5th, featuring 55 classic cars gathering at The Grand Hotel, Nuwara Eliya, before a parade to the track. Some of Sri Lanka’s rarest and most exquisite historic vehicles will be on display, offering motorsport fans and classic car enthusiasts a glimpse into the golden era of motoring before these machines take on the legendary hill climb.
