Sri Lanka’s Samitha Dulan won the silver medal for the F64 Men’s Javelin Throw event at the World Para Athletics Championships held in Kobe, Japan.
On 20th of May, Nuwan Indika managed to grab the first medal for Sri Lanka in this year’s World Championship, and Samitha Dulan entered the field in the F64 Men’s Javelin event with hopes of another medal.
Samitha managed to throw the javelin a distance of 66.49m. He won the silver medal in the F64 event as he was able to break the previous world record of 66.29m in the F44 Javelin throw as well, with this thunderous throw.
With this medal, Sri Lanka has managed to win a total of two medals – one silver medal and one bronze medal – in the championship, and with that the Lankans have ranked 37th in the medals table.
