Navy’s young side fought hard to hold their own against a superior Havies side but slumped to defeat number 2 in as many weeks.
The game was kicked off the boot of Rimzi Jamaldeen on a gloomy evening at the home of Navy SC.

Prasath Madushan registered the first touchdown for Havies while Rimizi Jamaldeen slotted three penalties and a conversion.
Lee Keegal was the only other try scorer for Navy in the game as Thilina Weerasinghe managed two penalties and a conversion, yet Havelocks ultimately prevailed claiming a third straight league win of the season.
Navy SC was looking to make things right as they lapsed against Army last week at home. But the game did not start the way the home side wanted as Havelock SC began the game brightly as they managed to pile pressure on Navy SC from the onset.
Early pressure on Navy yielded a penalty in front of the posts as Navy SC was penalized for their defensive line being off side at the break down. Rimzy Jamaldeen stepped up and slotted home with ease as he registered the first points for Havelocks. (Havies 03-00 Navy)
The next points of the game came when Havies Hooker Prasath Madushan crashed over of the back of a maul. Sailors ill-discipline cost them dearly as the boys in pink kicked the resulting penalty to touch and constructed a sensational rolling maul to see Prasath Madushan crash over the try line. Rimzy Jamaldeen slotted home the resulting conversion to extend Havis lead further. (Havies 10-00 Navy)
Thilina Weerasinghe completed a penalty double that included one from the far right corner to bring the first half to a close with the Havies lead cut down to 4 points. (Havies 10-06 Navy)
Half Time: Havelocks 10 (1T, 1C, 1P) vs Navy 06 (2P)
Havelock’s extended their lead within two minutes of the restart through a short-range penalty through Rimzi Jamaldeen following the ill-discipline of Navy. (Havies 13-06 Navy)
Navy’s mistakes continued this time at the break down as they were penalized for sealing of the contest at the ruck. Rimzi converted to extend the lead to 10 points. (Havies 16-06 Navy)
Regrouping after falling behind by 10 points, some patient Navy phase play and fancy chip kicks found unmarked Lee as he finished off, by diving over the ball in goal leaving Navy 13-16 a drift. Thilina converted successfully to add the extras. (Havies 16-13 Navy)
Navy were temporarily reduced to 14 men shortly afterwards when their young prop forward was yellow-carded for tip tacking an opponent. But the Havies could not make use of the extra man as they did not manage a single point n the 10 minutes.
With time running out, Navy had an opportunity to level the game as they won a penalty in front of the posts which instead of going for the three points they opted for touch. The resulting line out was lost and with that the game drew to a close with Havelock’s winning the game.
