Both St. Anthony’s and Wesley College have been unbeaten in the second round so far and as a result they once again cement their places in the top tier for next year. Dharmaraja College will take on CWW Kannangara this week and it is most likely that they will also keep their place safe in the top tier for 2016. D.S. Senanayaka College will take the final spot in the promotion battle although they lose their next match against Prince of Wales’.

In week eight  which was the penultimate, St. Anthony’s eased passed CWW Kannagara 57 – 07, Wesley overcame the Rajans 26 – 13, Dons won convincingly against Thurstan 36 – 18 and Prince of Wales beat Zahira in an exciting clash 36 – 26.

CWW Kannangara earned a well worth promotion after a great performance last year. Unfortunately they could not live up to their expectations and  will take the wooden spoon in the table. Prince of Wales remained unbeaten in the first round but they went down to the Eagles and Rajans in the round two clash. Zahira College on the other hand gave a good fight to the Cambrians and Wesley but fell short and they have to wait another year in the same tier.

Neuman Dilan’s St. Anthony’s will tackle Omar Kuthubdeen’s double blues which is expected to be another humdinger this Friday at Longdon Place. St. Anthony’s has a slight advantage with their recent performance and also they thrash Thurstan College as they went on to score the first triple figure in the plate.
