U-15 tour of Malaysia: SL Schools emerge Champions

Sri Lanka Schools cricket team emerged champions at the International Under-15 Cricket Challenge for the ‘Tunku Ja’afar Trophy.’ The team beat Bangladesh by 3 wickets in the final at Bayuemas Oval Stadium in Malaysia yesterday. The toss was won by Sri Lanka who elected to field.

The Bangladesh team scored 164 runs for 5 wickets in 40 overs. Mohommed Islam scored an unbeaten 83 runs and Suahadat Hossain scored an unbeaten 31 runs. They put on an unbroken 81 runs partnership for the 6th wicket. Dilum Sudeera took 2 wickets for 23 runs. Sri Lanka scored 166 runs for 7 wickets in 31 overs. Opener Kamil

Mishara top scored with 61 while Roshen Fernando (24) and Ranmith Jayasena (21) made useful contributions. Yeasin Arafat took 4 wickets for 62 runs and Hossain Sakib took 3 wickets for 30 runs. Kamil Mishara was adjudicated as the man of the final and Nipun Dhananjaya was adjudicated player of the tournament.
