Udaya Ranasinha, 16 year old Sri Lanka National Table Tennis Champion from Vidyartha College Kandy is currently in Switzerland on a training stint with the Table Tennis Club Neuhausen in Canton Schaffhausen. He is being trained by Pavel Rehorek and Pedro Pelz; both Swiss National Coaches.
Recently Udaya won the Swibro Cup U.18 Championship in St. Gallen, Switzerland. In the Men’s category Udaya lost to former top German Bundesleague player Ding Yi (Olympics no. 05 in 1992).
Udaya also took part at the Autrian Youth Open in Linz, Austria, but unfortunately in the match against Wang Bei Zeng of China he succumbed to an ankle injury.
