The Bandaras – Sachin and Uvin – took D. S. Senanayake to a comfortable seven wicket win over Kingsood at the Police grounds.
Having taken a 59 runs lead over the home team on the first innings, DS never relaxed their grip on the game. Sachin Bandara’s four wickets helped DS to bowl out Kingswood for 172.
This left DS the fairly simple task of getting 114 runs for a win. Uvin Bandara’s positive contribution (55 off 53 balls) helped them home with time to spare.
The Kingswood second innings was all about Upamal Heenkenda’s 71 which spanned 108 balls and included 11 fours and a six. Dilshan Walisundera’s 44 helped delay the inevitable.
