Afghanistan announced 15 member squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015: The Afghanistan Cricket Board has declared the 15 players Afghanistan cricket team for the ICC cricket world cup 2015.

Afghanistan team has quite a story behind their successful journey of making it to the world cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand. The situation and circumstances of the country is no secret for the world and despite of so many factors going against them the team has done commendably well to get qualified for the world cup in first place.

This will be Afghanistan’s maiden appearance in world cup cricket; one surely doesn’t expect a miraculous performance from them. But, what we do hope and would certainly see is a rising team show the world that may what be the support or surroundings a group of gritty sportsmen can surely change perceptions and leave a mark for themselves.

The team will be led by skipper and the best player in the team Mohammad Nabi, Afsar Zazai is the wicket-keeper of the team. The selectors have decided to go in with only four pace bowlers for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The Afghan boys sport experiences of having featured in the World T20 before and to a certain extent know the level to which the game of cricket can get. They have also been cautious in selection approach and picked up four reserve/ standby players in Shafiqullah, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Izatullah Dawlatzai and Hashmatullah Shaidi apart from the 15 members team.
