The visually impaired Sri Lankan Cricket team currently representing the country at the inaugural Twenty20 Blind Cricket World Cup in Bangalore, recorded their first win against South Africa.

The Sri Lankan team took over their South African counterparts on December 1, in the curtain-raiser encounter for both teams.
Winning the toss, the South Africans decided to take on batting first and at the end of 20 overs; they recorded a total of 239 runs for the loss of eight wickets.
Sri Lankans managed to reach the target of 240 runs in just 15 overs, with a loss of three wickets. Sri Lanka’s ChandanDeshapriyascored 49 runs from his bat. Sri Lankans beat South Africa by seven wickets.
The game also saw the South African team setting a record in the history of Twenty20 Blind Cricket World Cup, when visually-impaired South African cricketer Joe Schroeder set a record on the opening day of the Blind Cricket T20 World Cup, becoming the first player to make a century in the inaugural tournament.
Meanwhile, the opening day of this inaugural world T20 world cup for the blind also saw the Indians defeating the favourites: Australia by 215 runs.
Nepal recorded an easy win over Bangladesh when the former shielded a nine-wicket win.
Pakistan emerged victorious in their match opener against England and set a 166-run victory.
