Isipathana, Science, Lalith and St. Joseph’s win in U18 “Milo” under 18 ‘Fifteen a side’ rugby

Isipathana and Science win their matches on the 27th of August while Lalith Athulathmudali and St. Joseph’s win their game which was played at Science College ground on the 28th August 2014.

Isipathana College beat Wesley College in a closely contested rugby game played at Science College on the 27th of August 2014. Both teams looked good from the start but Isipathana College proved too much for Wesley College as they scored two tries in each half to run out winners of the game 10-nil.

In the second game played on the 27th (Wednesday) Science emerged victorious against a hearted CWW Kannangara team. Playing on home soil Science managed to score 4 tries past a hearted but sloppy Kannangara team to win their game in the U18 “Milo” under 18 ‘Fifteen a side’ rugby tournament.

The games played on the 28th (Thursday) saw Lalith Athulathmudali beat a relatively new team on the blocks Sri Priyarathana MMV by 36 points.  Sri Priyarathana MMV were toppled by a Lalith team that played enterprising running rugby. Lalith Athulathmudali managed 3 tries in the first half while another 3 tries in the second half helped them manage a healthy win over Sri

In the final game of the day St. Joseph’s College handsomely beat a poor Ananda College team by 17 points. St. Joseph’s College started well as they managed 3 tries in the first half while another 2 tries in the 2nd half helped them beat Ananda College and proceed to the next round in the U18 “Milo” under 18 ‘Fifteen a side’ rugby tournament 2014.
