The boy’s under 18 singles final between Nishangan Nadarajah and Avishka Perera was played yesterday. Nadarajah who has been in prime form throughout the course of the tournament proved to be unstoppable on the day as he marched forward to a relatively simple victory.

Nadarajah’s consistency proved to be too much for Avishka whose game is based on brute force and power play. It wasn’t Avishkas day as he kept going for his shots and missing, resulting in the Peterite being able to capitalize on the unforced errors committed by his opponent in order to cruise to a straight set victory with a 6-2 6-2 score line.

Nadarajah is also featuring in the under 18 doubles event and will be a strong favorite to win a double (singles and doubles titles) at this year’s tournament which is guaranteed to be an unwritten statement of his domination of the game of Tennis at a junior level.
