Air Force FC came out 2-1 winners over Army FC at a rescheduled second round match in the Dialog Champions League match played today at the Kelaniya Football Complex.
Air Force FC played good eye catching football from the start although Air Force FC started as the better team; Army FC got few opportunities but did not manage to apply the finishing touch. Both teams got many chances to break the deadlock, but neither team managed hit the back of the net off any chance.
The Army FC looked to take the win and go to 4th place in the table but a dismal show from the Army FC boys meant that they had to settle to a mid-table position as they came out on the losing side.
D.K. Duminda and Kavindu were on target for Air Force FC while Silva scored for Army FC but it was all in vain as the Sri Lanka Air Force FC ran out winners 2-1. With this win the Air Force FC goes to the top half of the table while Army FC had to be happy with a mid table position after playing three matches each in the Dialog Champions Leagues 2014.
