On a request made by SSC, The match venue for the 2nd Test against Pakistan was changed to SSC as it will be Mahela Jayawardene’s final Test match on his home club ground.
The Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket at its meeting held yesterday (July 22nd) made the following decisions.
Marvan Atapattu
The appointment of Marvan Atapattu as the Head Coach of the National Team was extended until the end of the Pakistan Tour of Sri Lanka. Ruwan Kalpage will continue as the Acting Assistant Coach. Nuwan Seneviratne will be appointed as the Fielding Coach for the Pakistan Series.
It was decided to call for applications for the post of Head Coach, Fielding Coach and Trainer for the National Team.
Medical Advisory Panel
The Committee nominated the names of Prof. Arjuna De Silva, Dr. Harindu Wijesinghe, and Dr. Seevali Jayawickrama to be appointed as a Medical Advisory Committee of SLC to help the national players in their medical requirements.
Financial Assistance
The Committee approved the names of Mr. Carl Obeysekara & Mr. Anurudha Polonnavita to receive financial assistance for their medical needs.
Artificial Lights to be used during the Match
The Committee took a policy decision to use artificial lights (flood lights) when needed, provided it is available in the venue, if the natural light deteriorates during a match.
