Sri Lanka begin their tour of England today with a warm-up game against Essex at Chelmsford, a half hour drive from London. Essex’s tiny county ground hosted the Sri Lankans the last time they toured England as well in 2011.
The game is one of the three warm-up games lined up for the Sri Lankans ahead of the internationals that get underway on the 20th of May at The Oval in London. The tourists will play two other warm-up games against Kent and Sussex at Canterbury and Hove respectively.
All players who will feature in the series have reached England except Lasith Malinga, who is expected to reach England shortly after his IPL obligations.
