On Friday one game is scheduled up in Kandy between defending champions Dharmaraja College hosting to St’Anthony’s College at Bogambara. Both teams are yet to open their account each losing both their games failing to impress thus far. This is a big game for both teams with only the first four teams qualifying for the Singer League Cup competition. The biggest disappointment so far in the tournament has been Dharmaraja College who has conceded big scores to their opponents while the eagles too have not been far away. Both teams will be looking for their first win in the tournament.

On Saturday two games are scheduled one in Kandy while the other will be played in Colombo. Kingswood College who has started off well in this years’ league will be host to Science College at Bogambara. The Kings after recording a big win over their arch rivals will start favorites over their opponents after the lads from Mount Lavinia suffered their first defeat at the hands of the Peterites. It will be a big task for the visitors if they are to create an upset.

Meanwhile down at Longdon Place St Joseph College host Royal College. Both teams had mixed fortunes winning one and losing the other game. Royal College have been less impressive after pulling off a narrow win over Wesley while the Joes tasted defeat to the Lions after having played well in the first half. This game is too close to call but Royal will have a slight edge over the Joes.

On Monday D.S Senanayake College will host Wesley College in a match to be played at Longdon Place. Both teams have lost their opening two games with DSS suffering big defeats while Wesley has been better going down to Royal in an existing finish. Wesley College should be able to pull this one and record their first win the tournament.

Next Thursday spells out an interesting competition when two unbeaten S Thomas and St Peters lock horns at Havelock Grounds. This match is played for the Late Archibald Perera Trophy and could be a thriller for the spectators. S’Thomas who has gained maximum points from both their games so far, will be tested by the Peterites who are bound to take up the challenge and give something for their opponents to think about. Nothing separates the two teams as both are well balanced and equal. It is expected to be a hard fought battle with both teams striving hard to come on top.

Table toppers Isipathana and Trinity College will battle it out in Group B at Longdon Place. This match has been shifted from its original date. Both teams are unbeaten and the winners are almost certain to take top spot at the end of round one. The Lions who have been the team of the tournament so far, will face stiff resistance from their opponents. Both teams know the importance of this game especially with the points being carried forward into round two. It is too close to predict the outcome of this game but the spectators will be kept on their toes as the teams battle it out.

All matches are schedule to kick off at 4.30 pm
