Stunning performance by the Lalith Athulath Mudali (LAM) College Mt. Lavinia who beat Sylvesters 25 to 22 at the match played in Bogambara Stadium in Kandy. The new bees created history beating Sylvester’s for the first time. After trailing 17 to 05 in the first half LAM came back strong in to a storm.
Prince of Wales (POW) continued their winning record beating Thurstan College in week 2. It was a tight game as the final whistle blow the score remained as 24 – 22 in favor of POW. In Week 1 they beat Piliyandala MMV 38 to 06.
CWW Kannangara college seems the favorites as they beat Piliyandala MMV 55 – 11 in their second game of the season at the match played in CR & FC. In week 1 CWW established a mammoth win against Lalith Athulath Mudali College with 13 tries and the final score was 77 – 05
Mahanama College won convincingly beating Nalanda College 29 – 03 at the match played in Science College grounds Mt. Lavinia. It was disappointing performance for men in maroon where as they won in the first week beating Lumbini 29 – 07. Mahanama wins two out of two as they beat the St. Benedicts in the first week.
St. Johns College Nugegoda outplayed Lumbini College 15 – 05 in week two at the match played in Air Force grounds. Great performance by the Nugegoda boys especially after losing the first match against Ananda College in week 1. Lumbini is not having a good time as they lost both the matches played thus far.
Ananda College too continues the winning streak as they beat St. Benedict 47 to 24 at the match played in Sugathadasa Stadium. Ananda take on Lumbini this Friday. Bens having nightmare losing two out of two surely they need to come stronger in the coming weeks.
