Vikings kicked-off the match but soon fell behind at the wrath of the guests’ attacking approach.

Pramod Weerasinghe of Sarasavi SC quickly took matters into his hands and worked solo for an easy first goal early on in the match. Vikings goalkeeper Nalaka Perera was rooted to his place as Pramod managed to get past a scattered defense line and land an easy goal.

The Vikings defense line did not come close to doing their part throughout the match and proved to be very inexperienced allowing easy passage towards the goal. They weren’t protecting their goalkeeper who managed to save a couple of possible goals, but was helpless most of the time.

Less of barricade gave more and more opportunity for the Sarasavi players to charge in and take more shots and they used this well to their advantage. With the wind also being in their favour, Chamil Chathuranga found the second goal with a chip over the keepers head with no difficulty.

10 minutes later, Hansa Kalhara rolled in the 3rd goal of the match in his second try. His shot was punched away by the goalkeeper initially but yet again he was left with no defenders to clear the goal and Kalhara stepped in and finished what he started.

With seconds remaining for half time Tharindu Lakshan sealed a 4-0 lead by converting a brilliant counter attack into a long range goal.

Second half proved no different or improvement in the Vikings and failed to get any momentum in this fast paced match.

Pramod Weerasinghe went on to score 2 more goals with absolutely no trouble from his opponents. And the 7th and final goal came off a brilliant team work from Dulaj Chathuranga and Pramode Amarajith.
