Kandy’s schools are geared up for the inter-schools Sevens rugby tournament which is fixed for February 1 and 2 at Royal Complex.
The Under-18 tournament will be played on February 8 and 9.
Kandy’s schools are blessed with some good rugby players and they are helped by some top class coaches.
Last year’s league champion, Dharmaraja College is once again coached by former Sri Lanka and Kandy Radika Hettiarachchi.
Trinity College is once again handled by New Zealander Neil Footee. He is assisted by Sean Wijesinghe.
Kingswood College is coached by Ananda Kasturiarchchi, a well qualified coach. St. Sylvester’s College is handled by Asela Welagedera, an old boy.
Vidyartha College, this time is handled by Nimal Fernando while St. Anthony’s College is once again under Theo Sherpin.
