Sanath Martis who is currently in charge of CH&FC was put under the spotlight after the Rugby Manager and Players who voiced their opinion against the Coach and had also allegedly underperformed in game were sacked by the CH Management.
Speaking to ThePapare.com CH&FC Coach Sanath Martis was of the view that these allegations levelled against him have been put in motion to tarnish his image. Martis acknowledged the fact that this is the first time in his illustrious career as coach has he encountered such a situation.
‘Till the CR match, and even after the game the boys were very friendly with me. I am surprised to hear that such a comment has been made after this.’ he said.
‘I am very confident you are going to win today, do well and enjoy your rugby’ were the words Martis said he spoke before the match in motivation of his players. Martis also believed that he had a very good rapport with the team even after the game.
ThePapare have received certain reports that the Captain of CH&FC had given liquor to the team mates after the CR game and had even volunteered to coach the team instead of Martis, which lead to divisions and debate within the team eventually leading up to the current state of affairs.
The CH Management who had learnt of these activities took action against the players and manager by sacking the individuals involved.
