Kingswood College, who have been nicknamed as “the lads from Randle Hills” and are known to be the pioneers of school Rugby in Sri Lanka, are determined to reclaim the glory after their last success in 2008 (under the captaincy of Gayan Ratnage).

Dynamic player and nippy scrum-half Thaveesha Ekanayake has been appointed as the Captain of Kingswood Rugby outfit. Thaveesha is a fourth year player who inspired the entire three quarter line during last season. Further he is a versatile player who can also play as a center three-quarter. Kingswood College is optimistic that this young lad is equipped with all the skills to steer Kingswood to a league title.

Apart from that powerhouse, Dhulisha Rasanjana, who is the Hooker of this formidable side, was given the Vice Captaincy of the team. Dhulisha is a third year player who is capable of producing rock solid scrums at their throwing and can also apply tremendous pressure on opponents in the defence.

Ananda Kasthuriarachchi, the Kingswoodian/ Kandy SC legend, will assume the duties as the Director of Rugby & the Head Coach of Kingswood. He is a top-notch coach who guided few outstation schools like Maliyadeva to reach elite level of schools Rugby. The veteran is one of the handful list of Sri Lanka’s IRB Dual Rugby Educators.

Furthermore, the Kingswood lineup will be assisted by Rajitha Abeykoon (Forwards Coach), Roshan Rathnayake (Backs Coach), and Indunil Wickramasinghe (Strength & Conditioning Coach).
