The 95th Battle of the Maroons played between Ananda College, Colombo and Nalanda College, Colombo ended in a draw today (2nd March) at SSC Grounds, Colombo.
Nalanda College resumed their first innings today at 58/0 and went onto post 325 runs for 6 wickets before declaring the innings. With that, Nalanda College managed to claim the first innings honors as they crossed Ananda College’s first inning score of 324.

Nadul Jayalath was the star performer with the bat for Nalanda College as he made 111 runs off 192 balls with 12 fours.

Sharada Jayarathna was the pick of the bowlers for Ananda College as he bagged 4 wickets for 58 runs.
In the second innings, Ananda College made 27 runs for 1 wicket before the rain interrupted the play forcing the game to end without a clear winner. As the game ended in a draw, Nalanda College retained the Dr. N.M Perera Memorial Trophy with them.
