Sehadu Sooriyaarachchi picked up a five-wicket haul helping Royal College take upper hand against S. Thomas’ College on Day 2 of their Quarter Final encounter played at Samadhi Grounds, Anuradhapura.

After posting a solid first innings total – 301 on the board, Royal College managed to restrict Thomian batting lineup for just 120 runs in their first innings courtesy of Sooriyaarachchi’s brilliant spell (5/31).

Trinity College managed to dominate their Quarter Final encounter against Mahanama College as they took 67-run first innings lead with 5 wickets in hand at the end of Day 2. Malith Rathnayake (6/21) and Chaniru Senarathne (75*) stood out with bat and ball for the boys from Kandy.

St. Sebastian’s College made a strong comeback against St. Anthony’s College in the other Quarter Final encounter played today at Saliyapura Gajaba Regiment Cricket Grounds, Anuradhapura.

After being bowled out for 159 runs in reply to St. Anthony’s first innings total of 204, the boys from Moratuwa managed to restrict the Antonians for just 103 runs in their second innings.

Malintha Silva ripped through their batting lineup, picking up 6 wickets for 54 runs. St. Sebastian’s College were set a target of 149 runs to win.
