AC Milan, in collaboration with Colombo Athletic & Football Club, is set to introduce the Milan Junior Camp program in Sri Lanka, marking a significant milestone in the country’s football development.
The initiative will see three camps held in Colombo, Galle, and Jaffna, offering young footballers a chance to train under certified Rossoneri coaches.
The program, scheduled to commence on January 31, 2025, is the first of its kind in Sri Lanka and is part of AC Milan’s global expansion strategy. It aims to provide structured technical training for boys and girls aged 5 to 17, focusing on both footballing excellence including mental and physical well-being.
H.E. Damiano Francovigh, Italian Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, noted that the project not only strengthens footballing ties but also enhances diplomatic relations between Italy and Sri Lanka.
Additionally, the initiative is expected to have a positive impact on sports tourism. Cinnamon Grand Colombo, the official hospitality partner, sees this collaboration as an opportunity to showcase Sri Lanka as a growing football destination, attracting global interest
