Sri Lanka managed to end their campaign at the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup 2025 on a winning note as they beat Australia by 12 runs in their final Super Six stage game played today (29th January) at Bangi, Malaysia.

Having won the toss, Sri Lanka opted to bat first but only managed to put on 99 runs on the board as Australians put on a disciplined bowling display.

Sanjana Kavindi (19), Sumudu Nisansala (18) and Manudi Nanayakkara (15) got starts but couldn’t convert them to something substantial. Lily Bassingthwaighte was the pick of the bowlers for Australia as she scalped 3 wickets for 7 runs.

Australia also struggled with the bat in the run-chase as Sri Lanka delivered a clinical bowling performance to restrict the opposition and snatch a hard-fought win at the end.

Chamodi Praboda, Pramudi Methsara and Aseni Thalagune impressed with the ball for Sri Lanka snaring 2 wickets each.

Sri Lanka’s campaign at the World Cup will end with this game as they managed to win only 2 out of 4 games played in Super Six stage. India, England, South Africa and Australia qualified for the Semi Finals of the tournament.
