D.S. Senanayake College, Colombo and Devapathiraja College, Rathgama managed to qualify for the final of U13 Division 1 Schools Cricket Tournament 2024.
In the first semi-final, Devapathiraja College managed to get the better of Richmond College, Galle at Prison Grounds, Anguaukolapelassa.
Batting first, Richmond College posted only 64 runs for their first innings as Diyath Sanjitha and Deneth Dinuka displayed a brilliant bowling performance, sharing 8 wickets between them.

In reply, Devapathiraja batting unit also struggled with the bat, but managed to go past Richmond’s first innings score by 12 runs to seal their place in the final.
D.S. Senanayake College dominated the second semi final encounter against Maris Stella College and comfortably booked their place in the final.
Having been asked to bat first, D.S. Senanayake College posted 213 runs for 3 wickets for their first innings courtesy of Miyuru Bandara’s century and Haamid Afdhal’s half-century

The skipper Bandara hit unbeaten 109 runs off 133 balls with 10 fours while Afdhal struck unbeaten 63 runs off 47 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes.
In reply, Maris Stella College were shot out for just 73 runs as Haamid Afdhal (4/7) and Ranithu Kumarasingha (3/17) troubled the opposition batters, sharing 7 wickets between them.
