The Ritzbury Summa Super 16 Junior Rugby Carnival concluded on the 10th of November at Kandy with an impressive line-up of 100+ teams representing 44 schools, as the carnival produced 4 days of wholesome rugby for Children in the Under-10, Under-12 and Under-14 age groups.
The first round of the carnival took place on the 29th of September at the Royal College Sports Complex followed by round two on the 12th of October, the third on the 2nd of November and the final round on the 10th of November at Bogambara Kandy.

The final round in Kandy intends to provide more opportunity for children in the junior grades to play friendly rugby matches against fellow juniors.
This was the second time the tournament travelled to Kandy and the organizers hope to continue this tradition in the years to come.

The 4th and final leg of the tournament saw more than 100+ teams participate in Under-10, Under-12 & Under-14 age groups as each team played 3 matches each.

Teams from the Central and Uva Provinces also took part in the Kandy leg and as a development initiative, the organizers distributed Rugby Balls to schools from rural areas such as Mahiyangana, Nugawala and Haddatawa.

Ritzbury was the title sponsor of the tournament as their and the carnival’s primary goal is to advance rugby and provide aspiring young rugby players with a platform to showcase their skills in these friendly clashes.
