The Sri Lanka Under18 Tuskers went on to win bronze at the Asia Rugby Emirates U18 Boys Sevens 2024 tournament played in Malaysia.

This appearance on the Asian Stage by the Tuskers U18, was a first since 2016.

After narrowly missing out on the cup final, Sri Lanka were eager to depart with Silverware when they took on hosts Malaysia.

Fawaz opened the scoring for favorites Sri Lanka as Malaysia were taken by storm.

The home team struck back straight away and with a converted try they went into the lead.

With Half time looming large, Sri Lanka went on one final attack and were lucky to see Fawaz going through for his second, taking the Lankan’s ahead at Lemons.

Half Time: Sri Lanka 12-7 Malaysia

Nimantha Sandeepa saw yellow, and Malaysia soon pounced on the advantage, to score a converted try to go back in front!

The youngster soon made immense for his error, going on to score the clinching try. 

Sri Lanka had 3 minutes to hang on and they eventually got there, helping them secure the Bronze medal.
