A last moment illness sees Josephian Inosh Silva having to step into replace Royal’s Disas Pathirana as the Royalist has been reported to have Chicken-pox.
An eleventh-hour illness saw the Royalist miss out, allowing Josephian Inosh Silva to make the cut just in time to take flight to Malaysia.
The tournament is set to be played on the 28th and 29th of September, with Sri Lanka entering as favorites, despite being placed in the tougher Group B alongside Hong Kong China, Chinese Taipei, and Thailand.
Meanwhile, Group A consists of UAE, India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia. The nine teams will battle it out at the Johor Rugby Union Rugby Ground in Malaysia.
Sri Lanka is set to begin their campaign against Thailand, which will be the fourth game on Day 1. The Junior Tuskers will play their second game against Chinese Taipei, with their most crucial and challenging match being against Hong Kong China.
On Day 2, the top two teams from each group will face off in the Cup Final, while the second-place teams will compete in the 3rd and 4th Play-off. Teams finishing 3rd and 4th in their groups will contest the 5th and 6th place play-off, as well as the 7th and 8th position play-off.
