Dinara de Silva lost the Quarter-Final of the Girls’ Singles Quarter-final having been the only Sri Lankan to qualify for the Quarter-Finals in the ITF World Junior J60 Colombo Week Two Tournament on Thursday.
With her defeat, it ended Sri Lanka’s hopes in the tournament which Sri Lanka Tennis Federation is hosting from the 9th of September to 15th of September.

De Silva lost to Stefi Marithe Aludo of Philippines in the Quarter-Final by 7-6 and 6-1 on Thursday.
Earlier, in the second-round match on Wednesday, she defeated Hima Fernando from Great Britain with scores of 6-3, 6-3. Also, she defeated Victoria Luo Feritas of Portugal in the first round with scores of 6-3 and 6-4.

Dinara was the sole Sri Lankan player to progress further, as Methvan Wijemanne and Ganuka Fernando were defeated in their second-round boys’ singles matches.
Further Sri Lankans, Gehansa Methandi, Thilini Senulya suffered defeats in the second-round girls’ singles matches.
