8th Asian Schools Badminton Championship

The 8th Asian Schools Badminton Championship took place from August 25th to September 2nd, 2024, in Semarang, Indonesia.

Organized by the Asian School Badminton Council, the event brought together teams from seven countries, including Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong China, Brunei Darussalam, and Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lankan boys’ team, led by captain Thilina Rajakaruna, secured the bronze medal, marking a significant achievement for the nation. The team comprised talented players such as Shenuk Samararathne, Thidasa Weragoda, Daham Gunawardene, Thesath Rajapakse, Thejana Herath, Sanuda Ariyasinghe, and Reshan Dimbukkuwalage.

The team was supported by officials including Manager Mr. Dharshana Bandara, Assistant Director Mr. Chandika Porogama, Lady Chaperone Ms. Gayani Himadumage, Head Coach Mr. Nilupul Amarathunga, and Coaches Mr. Harindu Pathiranage and Mr. Dilshan Peiris.
