England thrash Sri Lanka to claim the Youth Test series

England U19 registered a convincing win over Sri Lanka U19 in the second Youth Test of the two-match series against Sri Lanka U19 at the College Grounds in Cheltenham. With this win, the hosts managed to claim the series 1-0.  

The hosts posted a solid first innings total on the board – 477 on the back of brilliant centuries made by the skipper Hamza Shaikh (107) and Rocky Flintoff (106). This was in reply to Sri Lanka’s first innings score of 153. 

The spin trio Vihas Thewmika (3/82), Praveen Maneesha (3/112) and Manuja Chanthuka (2/75) shared 8 wickets between them.  

The visitors began their second innings 324 runs behind and posted 271 runs with the top contributions from Mahith Perera (61), Dinura Kalupahana (40) and Thisara Ekanayake (39). Farhan Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts as he grabbed 4 wickets for 59 runs.
