Five matches of SLC Major Clubs 50 Overs Tournament 2024 were worked off today (19th June) at several venues across the island.
Yashodha Lanka struck a brilliant century to guide Colts Cricket Club to a dominant win over Kandy Customs Cricket Club in a rain-hit encounter played at Thurstan College Grounds, Colombo.

After being put into bat first in a rain-shortened game (30 overs per side), Colts CC posted a solid total of 236/6 on the board. Opening batter Lanka hit 138 runs off 80 balls with 10 fours and 9 sixes at a strike rate of 172.50.
In reply, Kandy Customs CC were restricted to 176/4 in the allotted 30 overs, handing a 72-run win (DLS) to Colts CC.
Ace Capital Cricket Club continued their winning streak in the tournament, claiming their fourth win against Chilaw Marians Cricket Club in their Group A encounter played today at Moratuwa.
Batting first, Chilaw Marians CC were bundled out for just 186 runs as Wanuja Sahan and Sithum Disanayaka ripped through their batting lineup, sharing 7 wickets between them.

Due to the rain interruption, Ace Capital CC were set a target of 135 in 29 overs, which they chased down in the 28th over with 7 wickets in hand.
