International Friendlies - Brunei vs Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka will face a stern test against the higher-ranked Bruneian national team in a pair of international friendlies scheduled for the 8th and 11th of this month.

Sri Lanka is set to return to international action this month after a productive FIFA Series in March. The Lions emerged victorious against Bhutan and secured a hard-fought goalless draw against Papua New Guinea. This upcoming doubleheader against Brunei will be their first international assignment in three months.

These friendlies will likely be Sri Lanka’s final test before their crucial AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifying matches against Cambodia in September. The games provide a valuable opportunity for Andrew Morrison to assess his squad, experiment with tactics, and fine-tune their performance before the qualifiers begin.
