Dinara De Silva brought a historical ITF Junior win for Sri Lanka as she emerged Champion of the ITF World Tennis Tour Junior Circuit J30 at SSC Ground, Colombo.
A Sri Lankan Tennis player won the event in Sri Lanka after five years. The last time Sri Lanka emerged winners of this event in Sri Lanka was in 2019, when Angelika Kurera clinched the championship.
De Silva defeated the number one seeded Yu-Ching Hsieh of Chinese Taipei in the Final of Women’s Singles event to emerge victorious.
On the path to the Final, De Silva overcame the challenge from Abigall Elham of Indonesia in the Semi Final encounter to progress to the championship match.
