The Management of the National Cricket Team has introduced fielding awards system to improve the fielding standards of the players.
Starting the initiative, Charith Asalanka was awarded the ‘Orange Cap and the Coin’ by the team’s Fielding Coach Upul Chandana, for his excellent fielding in the first T20I between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
The new initiative introduced within the Sri Lankan dressing room aims at encouraging the national players to improve their fielding standards and perform at the highest level.
Sri Lanka registered a thrilling 3-run win over Bangladesh in the first T20I played yesterday (4th March) at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
The second T20I of the three-match series between the sides will be played on the 6th of March at the same venue.
