2 matches in the U19 Division I Schools Tournament began today, while a couple of other matches saw their conclusion, with Richmond College, Galle recording a massive outright victory.

Richmond College, Galle, recorded a superb win against De Mazenod College, Galle, with the help of their seasoned campaigner Sharon Abishek, who proved handy with both bat and ball. Abishek notably picked up 10 wickets in the match, contributing significantly to the victory by an innings and 10 runs.

Kaveesha Piyumal of St. Anthony’s College, Kandy, took 9 wickets to restrict S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia in their second innings to 163 runs. However, despite Piyumal’s remarkable performance, it was too late for the Anthonians as S. Thomas’ had already secured a lead in the first innings of the game, with Thomian Abeeth Paranawidana taking 5 wickets to give them the advantage in the 1st innings.
