CR and Kandy lock horns in the DECIDER!

Will CR win their first title after 1998, or will the holders take back their title to Kandy with regular service resuming?

A decisive Weekend lies ahead!

Navy SC vs Army SC at Welisara on the 16th of February

Navy hosts Army with the home team aiming for their first win in the 2023/24 season.

This season has been torrid for the Navy as nothing has gone their way. Similarly, for Army, it has been challenging even though they managed a couple of wins.

This will be the last chance for either team to sign off the league with a win, and both teams will be eager to do so, even though there will only be one winner.

Air Force SC vs Police SC at Rathmalana on the 17th of February

Air Force SC vs Police SC

Air Force takes on the Plate Champions at home as Police seek to put an end to a rather challenging season with a win and the Plate Championship.

Air Force will not be too pleased. However, if they were offered a finish above the Army at the beginning of the campaign, they undoubtedly would’ve taken it. Having said that, Air Force can only finish in 7th place, knowing they are plenty to improve on going into the Knockouts and the next campaign.

Police, on the other hand, have something to cheer about as they face off against Air Force. They will no doubt aim to win with a young team, proving the opportunity for many new-bees to get a hit out!

CH & FC vs Havelock SC at Royal Complex on the 17th of February

CH & FC vs Havelock SC

This is far from a dead rubber as third plays fourth, with their sights set on a third-place finish on the table.

A Winner takes it all, as both teams are currently tied on 27 points with their final game in hand.

CH managed to get the better out of Havelocks in the first round, surprisingly, and now the lads in Pink will surely be aiming for revenge.

Played at an unusual venue for a Club Rugby game, CH will no doubt be aiming to play a tight game.

Kicking may not be on the cards, but no doubt this will be a thrilling encounter before the main event in the final week.

CR & FC vs Kandy SC at Longdon Place on the 18th of February

CR & FC vs Kandy SC

The Main Event!

The Decider!

This is billed to be a mouthwatering clash as it all comes down to this single game. Kandy has had it all their way throughout the years, but now, have the tables turned?

Only time will answer this question, but if things don’t go the way of the hosts, it will be normal service for the visitors.

Kandy has gone on to win the League connivingly over the past years. None of the teams has been a match, but things have changed this time around, with CR, CH, Havelock and even the Police giving them a run for their money at Nittawela. Kandy got over the line against all but CR, and now it’s almost time for the return fixture!

The equation is relatively straightforward for CR & FC! A Win, and the league is theirs. However, if the result goes the other way, then things get complicated.

CR will no doubt be aiming to field their strongest XV and hoping the likes of Gemunu will be fit to run on the paddock on the 18th. However, with able substitutes, the home side will be raring to go!

They did it once, and if they are able to do it again, CR will undoubtedly be worth Champions!
